Guy Peires always knew his career would be in film making, while studying to be a director/writer for the theater in South Africa, where he grew up. After building a foundation in storying telling and character, he moved to Los Angeles, where he attended the LA Film School. There he completely immersed himself into the technology of the craft, soon realizing it would be through cameras and lights that he would tell his side of the story. Since graduating in 2001, Guy has worked as a Director of Photography on various forms of production, working his way onto bigger sets, collaborating with more seasoned crews. While relocating to Europe for a time and eventually settling in New York City in 2003, Guy has shot a broad range of narrative and commercial mediums, taking advantage of the growing variety of acquisition formats available to the industry. This taste for variety extends into his ever searching, ever curious cinematic voice; presenting itself in a body of work that is rich and diverse.
