Vera's first foray into the costume/wardrobe world dated as far back as when she was a toddler. At the age of five, her dad entered her into a children's fashion show for a company event, and amidst the kicking and screaming, maybe that was where it all started. ($10 bucks for whoever guesses what she dressed up as.)
Vera grew up immersed in the arts, receiving training in fine arts and music since childhood. When she was 14, she won two local design awards, so, no more vet school! Vera continued to design local shows and theatre productions all the way through university.
Fast forward a few years, Vera is now established and sought after in the in the film industry. You will probably find her either on set (often by craft services), hidden underneath a pile of mildewy clothes in a vintage shop, or tearing through department stores on a mission. Vera has worked on many various different budgets, having worked her way up as head of department on the small indies, to the world of episodic television. From horror, to comedy, to westerns, adventure - drama/history and to the world of crime drama. Vera is admired and respected by her team for her good nature and integrity in dealing with the many facets of a challenging production. She continuously strives to hone her craft by utilizing what she's learned to facilitate and meet the needs of production every time.
Outside of work, you will find Vera either at the gym, or hanging out with her sidekick Chairman Chow, a rescue dog that provides comfort and joy on set at times and most definitely in her free time.
